Successful FAT: 250 kW IGBT Power Regulator for Electrolytic Cells
Electrodrives has recently successfully completed the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of an electrolytic cell current regulator. The equipment belongs to AC/DC rectifiers family used in hydrogen electrolyzers and other heavy industries. The project scope included a 250 kW IGBT power converter and a dual-output transformer, designed to deliver up to 2 x 24Vdc / 2 x 5,100Adc. The equipment successfully passed the agreed test procedures, verifying the performance of the power system as well as the protection and safety interlocking functions.
With the FAT completed, the equipment is now moving into the shipment preparation phase, keeping the commissioning plan aligned with the project schedule, with final application in the aluminium industry.

UniPowerX solidifies position as Electrodrives’ new control platform
These FAT tests also represent a technological milestone for Electrodrives, as this is the first project integrating the new UniPowerX control board, a new design that represents the evolution and future of control within the company by combining advanced digital electronics with an architecture focused on robustness, traceability, and ease of use.
UniPowerX provides digital control and industrial communications and integrates key user-accessibility features such as Wi-Fi connectivity and a web-based interface, enabling real-time monitoring of converter variables, which supports faster diagnostics and improves the operational experience.
