Last February we successfully completed in our Madrid plant the FAT of a new SER drive (Slip Energy Recovery Drive) for a 6500kW SAG mill. This drive will allow the mill to operate at variable speed, increasing the efficiency of the grinding process.
The project includes a fully containerized solution in a 20-feet HC ISO container for an easy transportation and installation with air-conditioning, fire detection system, lighting, etc. These solutions are becoming more popular to minimize the works onsite. A pre-installed equipment decreases the production downtimes during the commissioning and reduces the chances of error in such a critical moment.
This was our first SER drive project fully initiated and executed during the pandemic. Our employees and partners have done an incredible job and it is very rewarding to know that even at these difficult times, the effort pays off.
